                                                          Who is Designer Michelle Pollock?

First I’m a United States Marine             Semper Fi’

As you go through the list some might question why I didn’t put being a mom first, if you were a Marine you’d totally understand.  I say that with a smile and a pride in my heart, so let me explain:
Marines are held to the highest standards ethically and morally.  Respect for others is demanded.  Marines are expected to act responsibly in a manner that benefits the title they earn.
Semper Fidelis is a bond that goes beyond teamwork; it is a bond and brotherhood that lasts forever.  Once you earn the title of Marine you live by that ethics and value forever.  Being a Marine lays the foundation of who I am at the core. A good foundation makes for a strong  structure.  Nothing can shake or break that; it may tremble when all around falls onto it but when the ruble is cleared away that foundation is ready to be rebuilt.
I teach this foundation to my children in the hope that they pass it on to theirs.                            There is no such thing as an x-Marine.
When my foundation is shaken I remember the Marine Corp - Adapt – Improvise – Overcome.

Second I’m a very proud mother of two amazingly gifted children.
They have taught me to laugh and cry, more importantly I learned the true meaning of loving someone and being loved.  They are still my biggest fans and worst critic (next to me).  Through them I found the child artist inside me that seemed lost and bound with “grown up” rules and expectations.
To learn about me as an artist you simply have to read the headings of each collection.  I give a brief insight on what inspires  and drives me, every emotion, my strengths as well as my weaknesses and flaws are translated into my artwork, especially my shoes.  I’ve wondered what legacy or mark I would leave on this world.  I in visioned some great masterpiece of artwork, displayed on a pedestal for all to gaze at, but my masterpiece is greater than I ever imagined and simpler than I expected. My children,  They ARE the best of me.

Third I'm a Designer
It starts with Once Upon A Time:
The Golden Age of Glamorous Hollywood was my Fairy Tale - Once Upon  A Time Far Far Away.   It was an era of glamour, elegance and enchantment.  The era produced actresses that were the personification of beauty style and grace.  An era when women seemed to embrace mystery, sexuality and power.  The Glamorous Hollywood era established women in the front line of fashion, their catwalk was  the silver screen and the red carpet  which featured some of the most glamours fashion .  Sinuous long flowing gowns that seemed to just float across the screen,  tight sexy dresses that clung to every voluptuous curve.  Veronica Lake, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Betty Davis and the unforgettable Marilyn Monroe.   These sultry beauties in lavish gowns wrapped in feathers and boas. The 1940's Hollywood took an extreme swing, women  deplicted as both practical and frothy, dreamy pin-up girls, every G.I.s dream. The 1950's the apparel was more feminine, Christian Dior dominated the fashion and bold vibrant spots, stripes floral and abstract prints were used.
I grew up watching and admiring these women not only as actresses and fashion icons but for what they stood for as a "women"
Throughout history there as always been a beautiful face that inspired, embodied and influenced, Helen of Troy - the face that launched a thousand ships.  Cleopatra, the monarch who seduced an empire its emperor and inspired William Shakespeare.

Each design I create contains my essence and passion. I hope that the Lady who wears them finds her own confidence and feels uniquely beautiful. That she takes an extra glance in the mirror, and sees how amazing she is. She feels the warmth of her glow and wears a brighter smile. Unconsciously she clicks her heels  and effortlessly glides out the door to begin her day.

I love mixing different elements that normally wouldn't go together, My Classic Hot Wheel & Luxury Car Collection shows the gentle & strong, elegance & muscle, combination.  Sitting outside in a thunderous rain storm while the sun is shining.  Observing then exposing mother natures  minuscule secretive details.   Giving new life to something old. Seeing things not as they are but what they could be. To evoke an emotion and take the moment to ponder it.

Always a Lady
"...Being a women does not automatically make one a lady..."  this was instilled in me at a very young age and endorsed as I watched the glamours ladies on the silver screen.  Next to the fashion that's what I admired most. They were Ladies not only in appearance but had an inner loveliness.  A lady combines elegance with  loveliness. she is disciplined in mind and heart, gracious, a giver.  A lady educates herself in every way from higher education to common sense and manners.  She is empowered and accomplished poised and knows that beauty and wealth can be fleeting; her inner character is the measure by which she judges herself and ultimately others see her.  Most of all she is generous with her smile, a heart is warmed by a smile, the one who smiles first shows confidence and courage. Besides a smile is contagious.
