Dragon Collection - Glamour Hollywood and the lovely ladies of the silver screen were not my only fascination, I have a “love affair” with Greek and Roman Mythology, The gods, and goddesses the mystical creatures captured my attention through movies and books. That affair led me to the Gladiators, the allure of that era for me is not just limited to the fashion and the tenacious victorious men who competed in a variety of games, which included magnificent horses participating in all types of equestrian events. Some races with horses and riders resemble today's thoroughbred horseracing.
The Medieval Period kept me enthralled with its skills in fencing and sword fighting and the gallant men saving beautiful damsels.
The Renaissance area (1450 – 1600) is one of my favorites period for producing artist like Michelangelo and Leonardo de Vinci. The Renaissance fashion had luxurious fabrics and was ornamental with feathers and jewels. Women wore corsets that closely fitting to their figure embroidered and trimmed in lace and rich fabric petticoats. Overcoats with tight sleeves and low-crowned hats were also the height of fashion.
This collection is a collage of those eras. I love the magical places of this mythical lore. My psyche is attracted to the strange and unusual. I have made this collection to inspire and capture the Dragon’s beauty, power and energy…what I would call their essence mixed with period influences. I see dragons as beautiful-elusive-exquisite- creatures.
